Narrow Aisle Equipment

Narrow aisle equipment refers to material handling vehicles like order pickers and reach trucks designed to operate in aisles between 8 and 10 feet wide. This allows warehouses to store more inventory in the same footprint compared to using standard counterbalanced forklifts.

An electric order picker improves efficiency by allowing operators to be raised to the exact height of the inventory. This speeds up "piece picking" operations, improves accuracy, and reduces the need for ladders or manual lifting at heights.

A movable mast truck is used for both stacking pallets and picking orders in narrow aisles. The ability of the mast to move forward and backward (reach) allows the truck to remain compact while still being able to place loads deep into the racking.

Movable mast systems allow the vehicle to have a shorter overall chassis. By extending the mast forward to pick up a load and retracting it back over the wheelbase for transport, the truck maintains a much smaller turning radius than a traditional forklift.

Narrow aisle equipment is widely used in 3rd Party Logistics (3PL), e-commerce fulfillment centers, pharmaceutical storage, food and beverage distribution, and any industry where high-density storage is critical for profitability.
